Electroglass® pellets were developed by Electroglass® Furnaces and are now available through East Bay Batch
in San Francisco, Chicago, Denver, Newark, also from Pacific Glass in Hawaii, and from Creative Glass, Zurich, Switzerland.We offer two batches of soda lime barium crystal: Electroglass®-90 and Electroglass®-96. The COE 96 is compatible with most color rods, and the COE 90 with Uroboros and Bullseye as well.
These are true marble-size pellets. They are rock hard.
Every pellet is guaranteed to be 99.9% identical to every other pellet!
Pellets are also 99.9% consistent from lot to lot: the COE and annealing points do not vary.
Electroglass® pellets require about 20% less energy to melt than powder or agglomerated batch.
Melting time is signifcantly faster than powdered batches or agglomerations.
Electroglass® pellets have a coating that reacts with the underlying glass producing a stiring action.
There is no dust, so the furnace crown or superstructure does not become coated with glass.
Electroglass® pellets are less corrosive than most other batches, so refractory lasts longer.
These glasses have superior workability, and are less prone to marking with tools.
Electroglass® barium crystal is colorless, and does not turn green or gray after exposure to sunlight.
Electroglass® barium crystal has a high refractive index, and is ideal for faceting.
These glasses are hard. They do not undercut on a flat lap, and take a fast, superior polish.
